For a number of years now the South Portland Historical Society has been presenting a series of oral history programs known as Evening Chats. At these events, Society Historian Kathy DiPhilippo typically presents a lecture and then the topic is opened for discussion among the audience. These videos are distilled from those discussions. The conversations and shared experiences of the people who make up our community and neighborhoods make for wonderful "oral history."
Many of our Evening Chat programs can be seen on the local cable access tv channel.  If you are outside the viewing area, or if you wish to own your own copy of program, you may purchase copies on DVD from the Society - the DVDs cost $15 each help cover the costs of producing this program series.
